COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
♦ THE LABOR MARKET. Mr. ir. Mackintosh reports for the week ending August 2nd. as follows :—There is a alight improvement in the labor market this week, but the supply is jnore than equal to the demand, except for first-class female servants. Of this class the supply has always been limited, and although good wages are offered, they cannot he got when wanted. Good hotel servants are also scarce. Country orders are becoming more plentiful, and we hope to see things take a turn for the better before long. Wages for the ordinary class of servants are slightly lower, nor can it be wondered at.
