WAIAREKA.
(from a cobrespondent.) JulyOtli. A public libi'ary has been in existence here for several years, although not ninny lately, for several reasons, have patroniseil it so frequently as it deserves. The Committee has just received LlO worth of books, and another valuable supply is expected in a few days. At a meeting held the other night, the Committee found themselves in the proud position of being able to announce to the public that in future no charge shall be made for reading. Wo arc well aware that to get the library into its present state of efficiency must have cost the Committee both labor and money. We hope many will show that they appreciate the Committee's efforts in the past by coming and partaking of tint which has been provided for them without money and without price. The library will be open every Friday nigh! from 7 to 8. Those who intend to become readers are informed that they must either bring a few lines from somt member of Committee, or leavo a deposit of os with the Librarian.
