There was a large attendance at "Wesley Church- last evening, the attraction being a service of song given by the choir of that church, entitled " The fcxodus of Israel." The evening, unlike those on which the previous services have been given, was a very fine one. and this added not a little to the enjoyment of those present. The Rev. 11. Dcwsbury acted in the dual capacitv of render and conductor in a manner that reileetc-d greit credit 011 him-, sett", end the choir's rendering of the vocal part of the service was, with 011 c or two exceptions, very effective. Mr. 31. A. .Tones presided at the organ, and accompanied the singers in a very careful style. The most noticeable pieces were ".Sound the Loud Timbrel " (trio and chorus), "Hear us, Jloly .Saviour''' (quartette), "Holy, Holy" (Sauctus), "Teach me, 0 Lord, the way of Thy statutes " (anthem), " Stand up for .Testis " (chorus), and "There is a land of beauty " (solo and chorus). The anthem "Lord'for Thy tender mercies sake," was a little undecided in some of the parts, which might have been remedied by a few more practices. Altogether the service may be looked upon as a success, and we to see another announced before long.
