COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
Oamarf Mail Office. Saturday afternoon. The wheal! market has. during the past week, taken a very decided favorable tarn, consequent mainty upon the favorabte advices from Australia,, and slight speculations for the Rome market. That there is every prospect of the market continuing firm we are warranted i» believing by the reports of the shortness of suppty in Victoria, and the fact that a large quantity has been shipped Etome. Wheat has now touched 'ts petbushel, but this can scarcely be quoted as tlio selling rate, the price having onty been given for small tines of extra fine samptes for special purposes. As a natural consequence of the rise in wheat, ttmir has also shown a tendency to advance. Oats, we regret to note, stilt pursnw their downward course, and have receded to ts *id to Is ikt for first purchases, with no inquiry, owing, no doubt, to the want of speculation in Australia. There is no demand for bartey, except for realty prime samptes, of which very tittle is held. Sales of small parcels have been made at 'ts fid to *>s. Potatoes have improved in price to the extent of about td a ton, owing to the outside demand. Wo quote prices f.o.b. as follow : Wheat, prime, 3s 9d to 'ts : inferior. 3s td to 3s Bd.
