ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAMARU MAIL. Sir, —In your columns of the 27th inst. occurs a letter signed " D. Farquharson," in which the writer professes to correct the inaccuracies of a correspondent. He states that his letter contained a complaint pure and simple. I will, sir, admit tho simplicity, but deny the purity of the same, and in proof thereof may say that his letter was only written after judgment had been given against him in Court, and it was, therefore, to all intents and purposes, an excuse, by which lie thought to ward off the .Committoo's future action. The only refutation I will offer to the 1 next part of liis letter is, tha,t tho School i Committee, at their last meeting, proved ) it false, every member testifying with his , signature. The concluding part of tho 1 epistle asks, "Can your correspondent . say that my name remains as unsullied as > before." The auswer to this is "Yes," * and for an obvious reason. —I am, &c., s Your Anonymous Correspondent.
