MORE MUD.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAJIAKU MAIL. Sik—lfc appears to me, Mr. Editor, that Ure-street is not alone entitled to cry out ab&ut the mud ; there is a very fair sliare of it in Severn-street, for instance. In south Reed-street, there is a lot of gravel in the middle of the road, but little or none on its sides. If the Council could have all the hillside walks asphalted, the same as they are done in Dunedin, about two feet wide up their centres, people would have a fair chance of getting about in dirty weather. It would not cost any more than gravelling, and might be made chargeable to the ratepayers as a specialty, who in their turn could crack it on the householders.—l am, &c., Reform.
