AND J. DOBBIE'S CELEBRATED PATENT BROADCAST SEED-SOWER, Which will take place on the Farm of Mr. Turnbull, close to the Deborah Railway Station, NEXT TUESDAY, JUNE 3RD, At One o'Clock. The trial will be conducted by Mr. A. W. Doubie, who has brought with him from Adelaide a number of their LATEST IMPROVED PATTERN SOWERS. There are 400 of the Old and 200 of the New Pattern now in use in South Australia, although it is only three years since their invention. The following is a fair sample of the experience of New Zealand farmers using this Sower : . •• " Hassell, Son, and Co., Oamaru. "Sirs, —In reply to your questions in re Dobbie's Patent Sower, I beg to say that by only using one horse I sow wheat 45ft.; barlej - , 40ft. to 45ft.; oats, 36ft. to 40ft.; but if the horse is driven a little faster it will sow wider. When I first started the Sower I sowed 60 acres in 6 hours. " The sowing is rery regular, much better than nine-tenths of what I see sown by hand. " I found no difficulty at all in working the machine. I think that every farmer should have a sower, as it does away with the hardest work on the farm ; in fact, as some of my neighbors remarked when they saw me sitting in the dray with my coat on sowing ten acres an hour, they said it was farming made easy.
