SUICIDE IN OAMARU.

At a quarter to 2 o'clock this morning, information was given by the groom (Mr. J. T. Riohards) to Constable Cleary that a man had committed suicide by hanging himself to the roof of a shed attaohed to the Commercial Stables, between Tyne and Tees streets. The constable proceeded to the scene, and cut down the body, which was identified as that of a man about sixty years of age, named John Brown, the man for robbing whom Craig was convicted some time since. Life was quite extinct, and the body was removed to the Eoyal Hotel, where it now awaits an inquest. The

deceased was seen by Sergeant Beatty in the street about a quarter to 11 o'clock last night, and -was then apparently sober. What len the old man to perform the rash act cannot be surmised.
