MR. MAUDE'S LAND SALE.

Mr. A. H. Maude, in conjuiiction with Messrs. Wright, Stephenson atid Co., offered to-day, in Mr. George Sumpter's new storey 4000 acres of 'the Maerewhenua. Estate, 'the property 6f Mr. John' Borton. There WaS a large attendance} but the bidding was not very spirited, and only tea sections were sold. The following sections were disposed of:—Section 5, 191 a 2r 21p, section 6, 88a orSp, and section 7,90 a2r 21p,DrWait, Lloper acre; section 8, 126 a lr, and section 13, 177 a Ir 6p, at LlO per acre, Jardine Brothers ; section 14, 193 a 2r tp, and section 15, 154 a lr Bp, Ll2 pe-r acre, to Mr. .William Craig ; section, 15, 194 a 3r 3p, and section 17, 214 a lr Sp, to Mr. W. Smillie, at LlO per acre ; section 22, 282 a 16p, at LlO pgr acre,. to. Mr. George Geddes. The remaining sections \ce*e withdrawn, the auctioneer remarking that he was pi-e- ---■ pared tQ dispose of them privately.
