The bowling of the Oaniaru men, though sometimes dangerous on their own ground, proved decidedlyweak when tried .on a strange ground and opposed by such batsmen as the Carisbrook can produce, and the result was that runs came - very freely despite- the many changes made. <j. Millington, Lowe, HowOrth, Hartley, and G. Fenwick, who may be considered the pick of the. The fielding of the Oamaru men was not brilliant), though: not :■absolutely bad. . Vernon played a fine innings of 46 without giving a. chance, while Fen wick made 32, M'iTeiT 31, _A. The innings was a very tame affair, runs coming very slowly..
