WAXGANUI RACES. Wangantji, March 13. The weather for the races is splendid, and there is a very large attendance. The course is in excellent order. ilt;i:i)i.E Hack of 60 sov».; weight for age. Victor 1 Grey Momus 2 Awaliou ... ... 3 Tiiis race was considered a gift for Grey Mi>mtis. He led so'on after the start, and jumped splendidly. During the last halfmile Grey Momus held back to make a race, the pace being slow. Grey Momus fell at the last hurdle amid loud shouts, and Victor got ahead and won easily. M'lvor quickly re-mounted Grey Momus and came in second. Eangatira also fell, but his rider was not hurt. It was a very slow race. Wanoanti Derby, of 100 sovs. Mr. Day's Forest Queen 1 Mr. Kewland's <1 lady's 2 Mr. Dune's Clladiola 3 Plevna and Satanella also ran. Gladiola was made the favorite. It was a splendid race. Forest Queen ran third for about a mile, but then went ahead and won a good race. Time, 2mins oTsecs. Eight started. The race was won somewhat easily. Time, lmin 24sec.
