The Marion Rennie, while on a cruise spoke the schooner Mystery, which had been on a cruise to Pentecost Island in search of labor. The Mystery sent a boat's crew ashore, which did not return. She afterwards cruised close in shore, and saw the boat capsized, and learnod from a Fijian who cafne aboard that Captain ! Muir and boat's crew had been murdered and eaten. The master of the Marion Rennie afterwards saw the natives like ants round the boat, which they dragged [ into a creek. The natives at Pentecost I Island are very threatening in their atti- | i-.ayiuo fri.it they will murder i another boat's crew whenever they want I a feast.
