MESSRS. FERRIER AND ROCK'S PANORAMA OF OAMARU.
The above-mentioned enterprising firm lias forwarded to us a panoramic photograph of the town of Oamaru. To our mind it is just what is wanted to afford persons at a distance a pretty fair idea of what Oamaru is like —an idea which cannot he imparted by any number of single and unconnected pictures, however good they may be—and it is being produced with this object. The picture, which was taken from Mr. Joseph Booth's property on the hill behind Oamaru, covers a large extent of ground. It embraces the hills which surround Oamaru and the whole of the town, the configuration of winch is plainly gleamed. Starting at the breakwater, it forms a circuit ending in the far distance on the Waitaki Plains. Apart from the faot that the picture is truthful, it is pretty, and may be viewed as a fitting adjunct to the novelties of a drawing-room. We are not aware of the price at which, this panorama is to be sold j but, as it is composed of six cabinet pictures, making a total length of three feet, and folds into a. size of six inches by four inches-, it will, if the charge is anything like reasonable, be greatly prized as a souvenir for home friends.
