At a meeting of delegates from the Coursing Clubs, which was attended by representatives from Oamaru, Christchurch, Dunedin, Tiinaru, and Invercargill, it was unanimously decided to establish a Waterloo Cup for the Middle Island. The Cup is to be a 04 dog stake. Entrance tee, LI2 10s. The first meeting will take place at Oamaru on the 24th June next. Prizes—L2oo and LSO plate. HERBERT. February G. At the district prize firing, the two highest scorers in this morning's squad were Sergt. Patterson, 50, and Vol. Patterson, 4S. Ten men are to fire this afternoon. CHRISTCRUItCH. February G. The Governor will give an undress levee in the Provincial Council Chamber. Tait, a contractor, fell into a cellar, and broke his wrist. Iverton, for personating a night watchman in the Domain, and extorting moncy fn»m a respectable young man walking with a young woman, was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment. The farewell benefit to Mdlle. Charbonet was a great success.
