Mr. Ballance. replying, said that it was proposed to place County Councils in the same position as Municipalities ; that was, to give them unlimited borrowing powers, subject to the sanction of tho ratepayers. Information was received in town yes-t.-rcbv that, on Saturday night, John I {arc" was arrested at Farndon, charged with burglary upon the premises of Mr. White. of the Farndon Hotel. It appears that White had missed, lately, a considerable portion of the stock he kept in his store, and had been imputing dishonesty t.. his sonants and others in the house .-T.ntndlesslv. On Saturday evening, I something lit the manner of Hare aroused ! suspicions in Mr. White's mind, and he I kept watch upon his movements, and about 10 p.m. saw him go round the house, open the store, and go in. White I was on the balcony at the time, but Liticklv slid down, "fastening Hare, and (sent f"..r Constable Motley.
