Sir—l have the honor to report on five samples of Port Wine forwarded by yon for analysis. ,- These lamplcs may all be described as fall-flavored, froity, aromatic Wines; possessing in a considerable degree that agreeable fragrance that characterises genuine They do not contain impurities of any kind. The perfect freeness of these \V ines from every kind of imparity, the proportion of sogar and alcohol which they contain being quite characteristic of unadulterated, untnanipulated Wine, together with their rich fragrance arising from aromatic ethers, should strongly recommend them, and gain for them a coed place in the Colonial market.
