RESIDENT MAGISTRATES COURT.
THIS DAY. (Before J. Udall and J. W. Humphrey, Esqrs., J.P.'s.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. W. M. Brumner was charged with being drunk in Thames-street on the 22nd inst. The prisoner pleaded guilty, and was discharged with a caution. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. John Loughen was charged with using obscene language in the public street. To the plea of guilty, the Court informed him that there was no excuse and fined him 20s. INDECENT ASSAULT. James Williams was charged for that he did on the 20th inst. indecently assault one Elizabeth Smith, a child under 12 years of age. Sub-Inspector Thomson prosecuted. Mr. O'Meagher appeared for the prisoner, who pleaded not guilty. The details of this case are of so gross a nature as to render them unfit for publication. The prisoner was committed to take his trial at the next sitting of the District Court.
