Dinner waits the arrival of passengers by the Express Train from the South till half-past 6 p.m. Travellers by railway will find this Hotel—both at the time of their arrival in and departure from the city, owing to its proximity to the Railway Station—more convenient for them than any other Hotel in Christchurch. A Porter will be in attendance on tha arrival of Trains, to take charge of luggage, have it conveyed to the Hotel, and vice versa. A new Billiard Room has also been recently erected and attached to the Hotel, which, for its extent, decorations, and completeness is at present unequalled in NewZealand. Four of Alcock's liuesst Exhibition Tables have been imported from Melbourne for this magnificent room, in which lovora. the gam© may luxuriate in the midst o£ the improved appliances and comforts know to modern art. The Proprietor will bestow special attev tion in his selection of Wines for this estab lishment, and only the best will be supplied. Of Spirits, English and Colonia: Ales, only the best approved brands will be kept. Care will be taken that the staff of servants employed at this Hotel will be only those who are found prompt and ready to bestow on visitors that attention t<\ their wants, together with the full measure of civility which they have a right to expeot w demand. Travellers leaving the Hotel by early Trains will be called in due time, and Breakfast on the table for thorn at any hour required. The luxury of Hot, Cold, and Shower Baths may be enjoyed at all hours. The present Proprietor—Mr. T. THE GOLD MEDAL, At the Riccarton Trial, January 24th, 1878, three fourths of the farmers preferred 1 the M'Cormick Reaper and Binder, and were prepared to give their unsolicited verdict in its favor. At the Kaiapoi Trial, February 7th, 187S, the FIRST PRIZE, given by the Farmers' Club, was awarded to the M'Cormick Machine. At the Oamaru Trial, February 27th, IS7S, THE GOLD MEDAL Given by the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Oamaru, Otago, was awarded to the M'Corroiak Machine. At the Ashburton County Trial, at Methven, on March Gth, 1878, the FIRST PRIZE was awarded to the driver of the only M'Cormick Machine present in competition, with Twelve Machines of another make, At the Public Trial, held under the aus-i pices of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association, at the Grange, Taieri, on March 16th, 1878, the thirty Judges appointed were unanimous in awarding the FIRST PRIZE TO THE M'CORMICK MACHINE.
