Sir Hercules Robinson has left for Melbourne to visit his daughter at Glenormiston. Several of the Ministers have been returned without opposition. Sir Henry Parkes was re-elected foxCanterbury by an overwhelming majority.

The Australian Eleven were beaten by the South Australian eighteen by twenty runs.
About 4500 immigrants have been introduced into South Australia in 1878. Peixth.
The fate of Messrs. Woolley and Farie, of Melbourne, who were lost in the Western Australia bush, seems to be certain. The camp has been found at which they turned their horses loose and abandoned their saddles, equipments, and stores. They seem to have wandered from the camp on foot, and the case it is feared is hopeless.
