Dinner waits the arrival of passengers by the Express Train from the South till half-past 6 p.m. Travellers by rail wry will find this Hotel—both at the time of their arrival in and departure from the city, owiug to ita proximity to the Railway Station—more convenient for them than any other Hotel in Christchurch. A Porter will be in attendance on the arrival of Trains, to take chargo of luggage, have it conveyed to the Hotel, and vice versa. A new Billiard Boom has also been recently erected and attached to the Hotel, which, for its extent, decorations, and completeness is at present unequalled in New Zealand. Four of A lcock's finest Exhibition Tables have been imported from Melbourne for this magniiicent room, in which lovers oi the game may luxuriate in the midst of all the improved appliances and comforts known to modern art. The Proprietor will bestow special attention in his selection of Wines for this establishment. and only the best will be suppiied. Of Spirits, English and Colonia Ales, ouly the best approved brands will bo kept. Care will bo taken that the staff of servants employed at this Hotel will Imj only those who are found prompt and ready to bestow on visitors that attention to their wants, together with the full measure of civility which they have a right to expect or demand. Travellers leaving the Hotel by early Trains will be called in due time, and Breakfast on the table for them at any hour required. The luxury of Hot, Cold, aud Showet Baths may be enjoyed at all hours. The present Proprietor—Mr. T. RlCHMOND—having peroeived a want in this portion of the City, lias' resolved to supply the desideratum by opening—in the New Shops attached to his Hotel—in Manchesterstreet, a RESTAURANT, Where Meals may be had from 7 a.m. till 8 p.m. for ONE SHILLING, In order to suit the convenience of all classes of Travellers. At the Paris Exhibition, the M'Cormiek Machine was awarded the only GRAND PRIZE given in the Agricultural Department. At the Trial held unde the auspices of the Royal Agricultural Society of England at Bristol, August 6th: Decision of the Judges—M'CORMICK'S SHEAF BINDER fulfilled the conditions of the Society, and. was awarded THE GOLD MEDAL. At the Riccarton Trial, January i-'-lth, IS7S, three fourths of the farmers preferred the M'Cormiek Reaper and Binder, and were prepared to give their unsolicited verdict in its favor. At the Kaiapoi Trial. February 7th, 1878', the FIRST PRIZE, given by the Farmers' Club, was awarded to the M'Cormiek Machine. At the Oamaru Trial, February 27th, IS7S, THR GOLD MEDAL Given by the Northern Agiicultual and Pastoral Association, Oamaru, Otago, was awarded to the M'Cormiek Maehiuo. At the Ashburton County Trial, p.t Mothven, on March 6th, LS7S, the FIRST was awarded to the driver of the only M'Cormiek Machine present in competition with Twklve Machinos of another make. At the Public Trial, held under the auiK pices of the Otago Agricultural and Pastorn* Association, at the Grange, Taieri, oil March 16th, 187S, the thirty Judges appointed wero unanimous in awarding the FIRST PRIZE TO THE M'COBMICK MACHINE. Our season's stock of the above Machines is now being landed here from tho E. C. Bushnell, from New York, and being nearly all disposed of, early application is necessary to secure one of the above really first-class Harvesters.
