Star of the South, Captain Balydon, left Dunedin at 10 p.m. yesterday, and had light north-west winds with fine weather, arriving here at 5.H0 this morning. She is loading with produce for Wellington and the West (.'oast. The barque Cito is busy taking in ballast and will probably sail to-morrow. The s.s. Waitaki, Captain Edie, left for . Dunedin at 8.30 o'clock last night, with a cargo consisting of !J2O sacks wheat and 350 tfftlcs wool. SHIPPING TKLHGKAMS. Wk.i.mnoton, December 10. Captain Roberts, of the llermione, reports that typhod fever made its first appearance on the Kith nit., since which two deaths had occurred, nine cases being still under treatment, and two being somewhat critical. The llermione sailed from London on the 30th August. Tlie fever first showed itself in several members of a family named Goose, of whom three are now ill, and spread to other passengers and the crew, .some of whom are still ill. It is supposed that the passengers will be detained in quarantine a month or five weeks.
