NEWS. (special to press agenxy.) London, December 9. The West of England Bank liabilities are three and a half millions. It is alleged that the office lias sufficient capital, but suspension will possibly be temporary. A revolution is reported in Cabul, causing the Ameer's flight to Turkestan. A German sailor, rescued in the Channel, reports being the sole survivor of the barque San Juan, bound from Sydney to England with wool, and which collided with a steamer off the Lizards. The Princess Alice is alarmingly ill.

DIRECT AUSTRALIAN NEWS. (rEDTEk'S TELEGRAMS, PEK PRESS AGENCY.) Melbourne, December 10. The Australian cricketers arrived by special train from Woodonga this afternoon, and were received by an enormous crowd of ; spectators, who gave them a most enthusiastic welcome. They were driven to town in a drag and four, and were met by the Mayor, who presented an address on behalf of the citizens. Mr. Conway responded. The city is gaily decorated, and a grand banquet will be given to the cricketers to-night, in the Town Hall. The Governor and 200 guests will be present. December 11. The Kelly's stuck up the National Bank at Euroa, Beechworth Road. They removed the manager, clerks, and manager's family in vehicles, and kept them locked up with twenty others at a station which they also stuck up. Sir George Bo wen lauded Lord Ncrmanby at the cricket dinner last night. Sydney, Dec. 10. The Aconcagua has arrived at Adelaide. The strike situation is unchanged. A Ministry is yet unformed.
