STALLIONS f THE PURE-BRED CLYDESDALE rOUNG PRINCE CHARLIE Will Travel This Season In the OTEPOPO AND SURROUNDING DISTRICTS. As a Yearling, Ycotstg Prince Charlie gained First Prize at Blueskin in 1576, also First at Waikouaiti same year; in 1877, hegained Second Prize against all comers at the Taieri and Dunedin. Pedigree. Sire, Prince—Prince is a dark Bay, stands 16J hands high, by Prince Charlie (imported); dam, Princess Maud the First, the Champion Mare in the Colony, the winner of 18 first prizes in Scotland, and several in Victoria. Prince has gained many first prizes, and his stock cannot be surpassed. The Kynoton Agricultural Society awarded him first prize for the best four yearlings, competing against the stock of two imported horses. At a recent National Show in "Victoria, a yearling, filly by Prince gained first prize. He also took first prize at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Shows of 1572 and 1573 ; and the first prize at the Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show, 1873. A two-year-old filly by Prince, belonging to Mr. John Duncan, Cherry Farm, Waikouaiti, took first prize at Oamaru in 1576, and second at Taieri the same year. Prince has an excellent temper, immense bone, good action, is a sure foal-getter, and is acknowledged by competent judges to be the best Clydesdale Horse bred in the Colony. Dam, Blossom—Blossom, got by Kettle's Sir William Wallace (imported) ; granddam by Miller's Wallace (imported). Blossom gained the first prize at Blueskin in 1872, as a yearling ; first prize at Blueskin in 1873, as a two-year-old ; a-; r. ?hree-year-old, was first at Palmerston and first at Blueskin in 1874; as a four-year-old, was first at Blueskin, as a brood mare, in 1875 ; as a five-year-old, in 1576, was placed second at Palmerston, and first at Blueskin as a six-year-old in 1577, was first at Blueskin, and was also awarded first prize for the best animal in the yard. Sir Colin Campbell is a Dapple Grey, rising 3 years old, and stands 16h hands high, fine action, and plenty of bone and hair ; fine temper and sound constitution. j Sir Colin Campbell was bred by Mr James Smith, Gladfield, North Taieri, out of the celebrated Mare Diamond, by Young Iron Duke. Diamond imported from Tasmania by the late D. Nesbitt, Esq. Sir Colin Campbell's Sire, Young Iron Duke, by Iron Duko (imported), out of Ducro, sister to Mr Jellies' prize mare. Young Iron Duke gained the first prize at Warrnambool Show, Victoria, and first for the Best Draught Entire exhibited, beating all imported and colonial bred horses on the ground. At the Grand National Show held at Kyneton, 1569, he gained the first prize for the best colonial bred Stallion, beating Dan O'Connell, the celebrated prizetaker, and the renowned Prince Charlie, in the class open to all comers. At the same place he gained the first prize in IS7O, also first in 1872, never having been beaten in his ehiss. Sir Colin Campbell's dam Diamond, bred by Mr. Paterson, Quamby, her sire Sir Colin Campbell (imported) by James Ross, Esq., of Bishopbonrne, Tasmania. Her dam was the celebrated mare Blossom. Blossom's sire, Clyde, imported to Tasmania by M. Field, Esq., of Enfield. Diamond when two years old, took first prize at Westbury ; when three years old, first at Longford, and first at Westbury; when four years old, first at Westbury ; and in IS7O, first at Launceston, and first at Westbury, being six firsi prizes in all, never having been beaten in Tasmania.
