WAIAREKA ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of this Board was held on Saturday, when there were present— Messrs. J. Reid (in the chair), Gilchrist, Isdale, Jackson, Menlove, T, Reid, J. T. Evans, and Oliver (Engineer). A letter having been read from Messrs. Haggitt Bros, and Bent, requesting the Board to complete agreement entered into with the Hon. R. Campbell, it was resolved, "That Messrs. Haggitt Brothers be referred to the Provincial Gazette closing the road line in question." Mr. Connell, on behalf of Mr. Henry Mitchell, having asked that some arrangement be come to with reference to road deviation in section 6, block 111., Oamaru Sfurvey District, it was resolved, after some discussion, li . That the Engineer's report aB to the cost and feasibility of forming road on surveyed line be received; also, that Mr. Connell be asked to lay before the Board Mr. Mitchell's requirements for the piece of land cut off." Mr. Sinclair, poundkeeper at Teaneraki, attended arid complained that the ranger had been charging him driving fees on his own cattle impounded. It was resolved that the ranger should furnish the Board with an explanation. The following resolution was carried : " That a sum not exceeding L6O be apportioned for works in sees, 1, block VIII., and 51, block IV., Awamoko ; also, that tenders be called for arched culvert on road from White Rocks to Weston, and that a special meeting be held on Friday, the 20th inst,, for the purpose of receiving the tenders." A copy of the Harbors Act, 1878, having been }*...' en the table, Mr. J. T. Evans tabled a notice of motion that at the ordinary meeting of the Board to be held in January, this Board elect one of its members to be a member of the Oamaru Harbor Board, in accordance with the Act. The Board then rose.
