The wide-spread Socialist agitation in Italy is causing uneasiness, and many arrests have been made. Vienna, November 27. During a meeting of the Cabinet Council, at which the President of the Hungarian Council, Ministers, and Andrassy were present, a bomb exploded outside the building. Nobody was lnu b. (special to press agency.) Bombay, November 23. The British force advanced and shelled Ali Musjid, in the Khyber Pass. The Ameer's troops were strongly posted. The attack was postponed until the remainder of the column arrived. Later. The British attacked Ali Musjid yesterday afternoon. The Afghans evacuated it last night, after a brisk cannonade. Our troops occupied the place this morning. The British loss was trilling. The Viceroy of India has issued a proclamation justifying England's declaration of war against the Ameer, and averring that hostilities were directed against the Ameer, and not the people of Afghanistan, whose independence was recognised and resptoted ; and further, that England would not tolerate the intervention of any power. DIRECT AUSTRALIAN NEWS. (rexjter's telegrams, per press agency. ) Sydney, November 28. A meeting of the Chamber of Commerce condemned the action of the strikers. The Company's engineers refuse to join the seamen. Efforts at mediation have again failed. A meeting of shareholders will be held tomorrow, to consider the position. The Government's proposals for railway extensions, comprising 1112 miles, will be submitted to the Assembly on the 12th December.
