THE DUNEDIN SHOW.
[from our own correspondent.] Dcnedin, 2(>th November
The attendance at the show to-day was small, ii high tariff being purposely imposed to enable the judges to get through their work. Though the show is numerically not so strong as others held this season in other towns, it far surpasses any other held in the Colony in the quality of its exhibits. Especially good is it in the fat cattle and in the Shorthorn class, and also in sheep. In each of these departments some wonderfully good stock is shown. Many of the animals being fit to. enter intq competition in any show in the world. The show of dogs is full of variety, anil is a very interesting one, exciting much attention. The agricultural implements also came in for" close observation. The number of entries in all was 724, iuaikup as follows : Sheep, 199 ; cat tie, 93 ; horses, 91 ; pigs, 7 ; dogs, 74 ; agricultural implements, 80 ; butter, (>5 ; cheese, 10 ; hams and bacon, 43 ; wheat and grass seed, 33; ale and porter, 13; New Zealand manufactures, 17 ; manures, 4 ; extras, 15. Of these the horses, pigs, and poultry were not on the ground to-day, arrangements being made that they will be here by 9 o'clock to-morrow morning.
