HORTICULTURAL SHOW.

In consequence of our inability, through ! pressure of other I,.after, to do full justice j to the "'Norf-h Ota go Horticultural Society and the exhibitors" r,t yesterday's show ii> iast evening's issue, we make the following j addition to our report:—

On entering the Hall, we -were agreeably surprised at the remarkably fine display of exhibits of almost all kind 3 arranged in their different classes for competition and for exhibition. The season being somewhat early and the weather, for the past few days, having been particularly unfavorable to both floriculture and horticulture, we were not led to anticipate such a decided evidence of success as appeared on ev«ry side. Owing to the really excellent display of pot plants and cut flowers, visitors to the show could not fail to be gratiiied by the increasing interest which is being taken in the cultivation of our most ceautiful adjuncts to the garden and eonseryatory.

Coming first to plants in pots staged for campetition, gardeners, We notice that Mr. Bushell (gardener to Mr. Henry Connell) is placed first with four well-grown Begonias, and also first in greenhouse plants; Mr. Goerge Sumpter being second with a good exhibit. In fuchsias Mr. Forsyth (gardener to the Hon. Mathew Holmes) was deservedly awarded first prize for three handsomelygrown plants. In bicolor and tricolor geraniums Mr. Bushell was awarded firsts, each exhibit being worthy of a special mention, the coloring of one of the tricolors (a Lady Cullum, if we mistake not) being almost perfect. In native and other ferns. Mr. Jiuslio.il was again first, Mr. Falconet being second ivitit ;i veiy nice, lot. in the ;:iiiai:.Li ,r ci:-t.s the exhibits were -.'o.o']. In the competition for best rose in the room. the judges had some diitieulty in giving r.heir award, the merits of the different blooms being considered almost ei|nal.
