Peterson. Mr. Paterson's exhibit | showed any amount of quality, but Messrs. • Fleming and Hedley's exhibits were more of the farmer class of horses. Mr. Clydes- ; dale's- foal, by Cossack, promises to become a remarkably fine looking mare. In the ' extra 1 class.Messrs Williams, and Bentley had a remarkably nice hunter, -frhich has taken several prizes. He received a well deserved ! highly commended. A few good hacks were shown, bvit the ■■ competition was not so keen as in former years. The jumping events were wretched displays, but the trials of ladies' hacks uroved highly interesting. Some nieclook'ng ponies wer» shown. Tlic show of Ayrshire cattle was excel lent. Tn all-ae-ed bulls, the competi-ion was exeeedhifdy close, ten capital an:: .als euter'n,: the rim/. The first prize fell to Mr. St, ves'■oii, of Tim-ru, for his bu'l, N-.-ii '., bred k. Pumnru by Messrs. Fleming and Fediey. He is a line animal, of good .size, and uhnosr P'irfect in every point. Mr. Gomiucll's •Tampion, another fine. beus' ; , possessing in an eminent decree all the finalities or Up; Ayrshire, secured second prize. Mr. T. Y. Duncan, the third prize-taker, showed a vevv exeellent bull, as did also Messrs. Flemhieand Hedley, Mr. P. Orr, and Mr. Robertson. In two-year-olds, Mr. Mitchell carried ob the first prize, with a compact and bea.utifuliool.ii? bull named Kakanui Jock, by Bobby Burns, who obla.ine<l the srold medal two years arm. A vei y handsomely finished horse, cart, made br .Tack, Steel, and Hornby, was the only entry in this class. An American hay-loach r a traoted a great deal of notice. A lawn-mower, shown by the Hon. M. Holmes, is a haudy-looking implement. A horse-rake and Bandell's pulverising harrow were also shown by Mr. Holmes. Eodye and Jones were the only exhibitors, and the whole of their goods showed food vorkmr.nsliip combined with strength and careful finish. In wheat and Oats, the Ilaka,teravnea exhibits were of first quality in •,vei-/ht and color. In grass seeds, the clovers were iiarticuhn ly noticeable, Stemnon and Leigh, showing first-rate samples. A fine exhibit of impoi-ted fruits by G. W. Draper attracted much attention, aa indeed
