This Company is formed for two objects : Ist, and chiefly.—For lending money at current rates of interest upon the security of landed property situated in Jieiv Zealand ; and 2nd. —For aeomrintr, when deemed advisable, landed property situated in or near to cities or towns, or centres of popula,;ion, in the Colon y of New Z-:.i!~!-d, an i thereafter sel'.ii'LT it again in who'e or in lots With a fast-inerea-siucc population both in ■-own and country, a' very lino climate, and land of great fertility opened up !.y the const"uctii">n of roads and railways, there is an aim.v:t inexhaustible tiold for the profitable investment of money in the manner proposed by this Company, and it is one very little . ecu- icd. This Company intends to occupy that field, ami to <■/!'.■!• to the public—particularly to farmer-se; tiers and the working population generally—facilities for acquiring property, and for erecting houses, or effecting other substantial improvements thereon, on reasonably moderate terms. And the «"ompany c-ii do so profitably to the shareholders, while at 'he same time help isgivtn ro people who are willing to pay adequately for the advantage and accommodation offered. In no case will money be lent otherwise than upon Ihe security of landed property, a safe margin being always kept. The system which prevails all over the Colonv in the buying of land is that of deferring payment of the price—so much being paid as a deposit when the purchase is made, and the remainder by bills for instalments, spread over a limited period of from one to three yeais, the title beiugonly ■.'ranted when the price is fully paid up. This Company, in consequence of being in a position to pay 111 cash at ouce, wiii certainly lie able to buy property on much more favorable terms t an buyers on dcfe::ed payments; ami it is e. rtain that, by the vxercise of ordinary care, a safe and very nrnfitab'e kind of business can be done bv buying land and selling again in lots to suit purchasers. It is very well known that companies ii New Zealand having objects similar to those of this Company have been able, notwithstanding very limited resources, not only to pay large dividends, but also to add to capital. It is not intended to ca r l-up more than LI per share, at the outset at least. The promoters consider that, with 10s. per share paid up the Company may make a fair beginnng ; and they confidently anticipate hat besides paying a good oividend to the shareholders, the Directors will also, by j"dicious investments in landed property, be able from time to time, out of profits, to make additional espial. The turn oyer of capital will be quick, and there will no doubt be available soon a considerable amount of money from deposits made by people both at Home and in New Zealand, so that a large paid-up capital is not necessary. _ Prospectuses, with forms of application for shares, may be obtained at the Office of the Company, or fiom the bankers at the Wellington Office, or at any of the branches, and the memorandum and articles of association may be seen in the hands of the .Secretary. Should no allotment be made, the deposit will be returned without any reduction. Lloyd's Rooms. Brandon-street, Wellington, October, IS7B. FORM OF APPLICATION FOR SHARES.
