Claxton, and 15 in the steerage. DEPARTURES. October 23. Crest of the Wave, schooner, M'Lean, for Greymoutli. Jane Anderson, soli., 00 tons, ■ Saunders, for the BluII". Anderson and Co., agents. Tho s.s. Waitaki, Capt. Edie, arrived in port from Dunedin at an early hour this this morning. She brings 22 passengers and 70 tons of cargo. The schooner Crest of the Wave took her departure for Greymoutli yesterday with a full cargo of produce. The schooner Jane Anderson sailed tor the Bluff yesterday evening. The s.a. Star of the South will take her departure for the Northern Ports this even- '»£>'• „ SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Melbourne, October 23. The Tararua arrived on Monday. The Albion sailed to-day. Sydney, October 22. Arrived : Rotorua yesterday. Adelaide, October 22. Sailed : Erwby. Lyttelton, October 23. Arrivod : Konnata, from Mauritius, fortyaix days out. Wellington, October 23. Tho Taiaroa, with the Southern San Francisco mails, crossed the Manukau Bar at 6 p.m. to-day. She leaves Wellington on Friday, at 6 p.m. Auckland, October 23. The mail steamer Australia left Auckland on the 20tli August, and encountered strong gales for a day or two, after which she had light breezes until her arrival at Honolulu on the 2nd September, which place she left on the next day, arriving at San Francisco on the 11th. She left again on the 30th Sept., and arrived at Honolulu on the 7th Octobei. Left next day, and arrived at Auckland at 8 p.m. on the 22nd October. She left again for Sydney early this morning.
