SALE OF MESSRS LEES AND MOORE'S PROPERTY.

Mr. A. H. Maude, on behalf of Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., 9old t<-d iy about 1 ,000 acres of land at Teaneraki and Friston, ti-e property of Messrs. Lee 9 and Moore. Despite the heavy down-pour of rain, there was a large attendance, but the Bidding was not very spirited. The first lot submitted was section SO (quarter of an acre), Township of Teaneraki, which was knocked down to Mr. P. Miller for L '1 10s. Mr. Miller also purchased sections 00, 61, and 62 nt the same figure. Sections from G3 to 74 were withdrawn, no offer equal ; to the upset price being- made. Sections 75 and 76 were bought by Mr. G. Brown for LJ2 10s, and section 77 was obtained by Mr. John M'Kay for the same price. Sections from 78 to So were withdrawn!. Section 87 was knocked down to Mr. W. Stewart for Ll6 10s. Sections 88, 89, and 90 was passed. For section 91, Ll3 was o tained, Mr. G. Brown being the buyer. The next lot of sections were passed until section 98 was reached. Mr. G Sumpter being the buyer for Ll3. No offer was made for the township sections, which were passed. Only ten sections were sold. The sale of ! agricultural land at Teaneraki was next proceeded with. The first lot offered was a farm of 46 acr s 8 : roods 6 poles, in tussocks, which was knocked down to Mr. Henry Connell" at the rato of LI > 5s per acre. The remaining lots iyere dealt with as follows : —Lot .2, 22 acres 1 rood * poles, Lltiper acre, Mr. G. Sumpter ; lot 3, 00 acres 2 roods 4 poles bought in at LIS per acre ; lot 4, 28 acres 1 rood, passed ; lot 5, 60 acres 3 roods 1 pole, Ll2 per acre, Mr. \V. Aitkin, who also toqk the leasehol of lot 6a, nt a rental of 15s an acre ; ot> 6, 23 a:res, passed; lot 7, 74 acres 3 roods, 22 poles," with six-roomed house a« d • table, also passed. The land in the Friston Estate was next offered, the whole of the lots in which were sold subject to mortgage. Lot 4, 252 acres 3 roods 34 ','Oles, subject to a mortgage of LI2OO, was knocked.down to Mr. P. Millar at LlO an acre. Lot 3, 123 acres 1 rood 17 po'es, was passed, no offer being receive 1 ; an 1 lot 2. 265 acres, and lot., 272 acres, were t oth passed in for a similar reason. At the request of an in ending buyer section SO, Teaneraki township, previously passed, was again put up and knocked down to Mr. G. Brown for Ll 2 10s. This closed the sale of M ssrs. Lees and Moore's p-operty, * nd the aucti .neer announced that he would be willing to treat privately for the sale of the sections passed in.

Mr. Maude then sold the lease ef sections 9 and 10 4 block 64, Oamaru, with two cottages, on ae-ount of Mr. Richard Porteous, which wasfknocked down to Mr. Davies for LSO.
