NORTH OTAGO AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Committee of tliis Association was held to-day, when there were present—Messrs. Connell (in the chair), Hedley, Ronayne, Dunlop, Henderson, M 'Donald, Menlove, Little, Borrie, M'Lennan, and Church (Secretary). The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence was read and approved. A number of inward letters were read, but were chiefly of a routine character. The question of appointing canvassers for members was then discussed. Mr. Dunlop said that very great dissatisfaction was expressed last year in consequence of several subscribers who had paid their money not receiving subscribers' tickets. He thought members of the Committee had quite sufficient to do without undertaking the work of canvassing, and he would therefore move, "That a paid collector be employed to canvass the town, and be authorised to issue members' tickets to any subscriber of 205." Mr. Menlove seconded the motion. Mr. Hedley thought the Society would lose greatly by appointing a paid canvasser, and he would move as an amendment, '' That canvassers be appointed from the Committee." Mr. M 'Donald seconded the amendment, which was carried, and the motion negatived. The following gentlemen were then appointed canvassers : —Oamaru Town South, Messrs. Hedley, C'onnell, Ronayne, and Young ; Oamaru Town North, Messrs. Kerr, Paterson, Falconer, and Fleming ; Ptikeuri, Messrs. Duncan, Honour, and Easton ; Papakaio, Messrs. D. Borrio and D. The Vice-Presidents (Messrs. Connell and Morton) were appointed Superintendents of the Yard.

The Secretary (Mr. Church) was authorised to canvass for special prizes. The following gentlemen were appointed a Yard Committee : Messrs. Duncan, Spence, Morton, Paterson, Orr, Hedley, Swanson, and Falconer; three to form a quorum. Messrs. Connell, Young, and Steward were appointed a Dinner Committee, with power to call for tenders for providing a dinner on the evening of the second day of the Show.
