ARRIVALS. OCTOBER' 9. Waitaki, s.s., 228 tons, Edic, from | Dunotlin. H. Aitkcn, agent. Ceylon, barque, 591 tons, Claxton, from Lyttelton. P. Cunningham and Co., agents. Tho s.h. Waitaki, Captain Edie, which was due here at (> a.m. this morning from Ihmedin did not put in an appearance until 10 a.m., owing to the heavy north-westerly gale which she experienced. She brings a few passengers and 'M tons of cargo. The barque Ceylon, ">9l tons, Capt. Claxton, sailed from Lyttelton for this port on Sunday evening last, and arrived here this afternoon, taking up her position inside the Breakwater. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Hokitika, October S. Arrived—The Alhambra, from Melbourne. She will be tendered during to-night's tide by the Waipara. Wellington, Octobers. Arrived—Ship Rakaia, from London, with 160 immigrants, all in good health. She experienced a fair passage of 94 clays from Plymouth. Several births occurred on the voyage. There were no deaths.
