CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
A meeting of the Chamber of Commerce was held in the Harbor Board Chambers this afternoon. Present, Messrs J. T. Evans (in the chair), Steward, Connell, Gibbs, Meek, Humphrey, Surogt.er, -Christie. Mr W. J. Smith wag_ appointed Secretary to the Chamber. It -was resolved that-.the members for the district be written to, asking them \td request " the Commissioner of Telegraphs to reconsider his decision re keeping open of Telegraph '.-ffice. between the hours of 5 and 7. Resolved that the Commissioner of Railways be requested to hold an inquiry into the' circumstances connected with the recent railway accident. Resolved that the Chamber co-operate with the Harbor Board in supplying information setting forth the acc minodation and security of the Port of (lamaru to Lloyds. Resolved that representations be made to the Postmaster on the desi) ableness of opening the lobby leading to the private boxe3 between the hours of 10 a.m. and S p m.
