[Per Pigeon Exfress.] Dc>-troo>-, October 2. The trial of sheep-dogs to-day has so far proved both satisfactory and interesting. Taere are 100 pe- pie on the ground. Thirteen dogs are competing in the AllAged Class, and ten of them have run off. Mr. Olivvr's Sharp, Mr. Catanai'h'sGvpsmd Mag, Mr. Mathieson's Lassie," Mr. "Connor's Star, Mr Smith's Clyde, Mr. Oliver's Gyle, Mr. Borne's Sandy, Mr. Sutherland's Sharp, and Mr. Forsyth's Roy have finished their trials, but there are three more dogs to compete in this class after lunch—an adjournment for which has just taken place. Of those mentioned. La»sie, a young slut which is also entered in the competition for dogs under 18 months old, was an easy first, Clyde being apparently so far second, while Lassie and Gyp also did good work.
