The s.s. Star of the South, Captain | Hughes, took her departure for Ihmediii at 4 p.m. to-day with LvtO hags wheat, shipped by Mr. G. siunpter and the N.Z. L. >t -M.A. Company. The barque Caharfeidh in rapidly di«charging her cargo of cal : when finished Hhc will sail for Newcastle direct m badast. On account of the hair pie Adtshaw drawing too much water she will not eome inside the Breakwater. Commenced I eking in cargo at the outer anchorage this nunning ; has shipped 100 tons to-day, ami will probably finish loading about Thursday next. The p.s. Samson, Captain .lones, so well and favorably known at this port is, for the future, to be engaged in the North Island West Coast trade. She took her final departure from Dunedin last night for the Waitara.
