A special service for the young is an nounced to ba held in St. Paul's Presby. terian Church to-morrow morning.

The annual meeting of members of the Waitaki Amateur Athletic Club will be held this evening at the. Hoyal Hotel, at 8 o'clock. Business— Election of officers and other matters.

A general meeting of the Karly Closing Association was held last evening at Gordon's Kooniß, Tees-.-treet, Mr. il'Donald presiding. After the minutes of tl'e previous meeting h;td been read a'-d confirmed, theChahman remarked that it was necessary for each member to make every exertion to further tiie interests of the Association, and thai could only be accomplished by members attending the meetings' more regularly. A special meeting will be held on Thursday evening, the 19th inst., at which the Treasurer will read his report, and other business of an important nature ■ will be brought before members. The meeting terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the chair. At the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning, before T. W. Parker, Esq., R.M., John M"Kae was charged with indecent exposure at the Railway Station yesterday, was sentenced to three days' imprisonment. Thos. Chalmers and David Ballarich were charged with being drunk and disorderly In Itchen-street yesterday. The former was dismissed with a caution, and the latter fined ss. or 24 hours' imprisonment. John Murray and David Heron were each fined , sa. for allowing cattle to be at large. I
