September .4. Mr. Thomas Bracken, of Dunedin, last evening delivered a lecture ou " The Glory of the Press," in aid of the widows and orphans fund of the Grand Loyal Avon Lodge of Odd Fellows. There was a very large audience, and the lecture was a great success. At the Supreme Court, yesterday, in the suit of Jeffreys v. Jeffreys the husband sought for a divorce on the ground of the wife's adultery. The jury found a verdict for the petitioner on all issues.
