A TRIAL of SHEEP DOGS will bo hold L at DUNTROON, on WEDNESDAY, 2nd OCTOBER, IS7B, commencing at Ift o'clock a.m. precisely. Intending Competitors must send in their Entries to the Secretary, Mr. E. C. Smith, Duntroon, not later than 25thSEPTEMBER„ 1878, accompanied with Entrance Fee (10s)„ as also colour, name, and aoe of Dog entered. Places will be drawn for. There will be two (2) Classes—ona for Dogs of any age, and one for Dogs, aged 18 months and under. There will be First, Second, and Third Prizes awarded for each Class. Four sheep will be allowed for each competitor. Six hurdles to form a pen, the gate to act as a wing. Any Competitor when working his Dog must remain within (50) fifty yards of tho pen. In the Trial for aged Dogs, no Dog will be allowed to start before the sheep are (J>) half a milo from tho pen ; ('2O) twenty miuutes will be allowed for yardiug from tho time of start. In the Trial for Youug Dogs, no Dog will be allowed to start before the sheep are (500) five hundred yards from tfcs* pen ; time and sheep same as for old Dogs.

Frizes will be awarded according to points, in eacb Class—viz., 5 points for the best heading; 3 points for the Dog which brings the sheep back best ; 2 points for the Dog, which yards the sheep best; 2 points for the.
