AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. Messrs. Fleming and Hedley report that they held a sale on Thursday, on account of Mr. J. Johnstone, at Duntroon, of farm stock, implements, and grain. There was a large attendance, and the bidding throughout, except for the wheat offered, was very spirited. Prices obtained were as follows : Good draught horses, L 55 to L 69 ; medium, L 35 to 50; hacks, Ll9 10s to L 37; bacon pigs, L2 6s per head ; drays, Lll to Ll9 ; 1 timber truck, L 35; I chaff-cutter and horsepower, L4l ; double-furrow ploughs, Ll2 to LIT; 4-leaf harrows, L4ss to L 6 53 ; reapers (new last season), LI4 to Ll6; second-hand bags 6d ; 1200 bag 3 wheat, to be delivered instore. 3s 7Jd ; 1600 bags wheat in store, 3s 6d ; 800 bags wheat, 3s 4Jd ; 200 bags oats brought from 3a lOid to 4a Id on the ground; harness, at fair rates. Messrs. ConneH and Clowes report that at their sale to-day the attenda ce was good and the bidding, more esjieeially for the oats and potatoes, was spirited. The following prices were realised :—7l bags Tartarian oats, 3a 9sd ; 85 bags Danish oats, 3s lljd ; 114 bags short (Canadian), 4s ; 2£o bags feed, 3a lOd; 20 bags short, 4s 3d ; potatoes, Derweats, L 5 Ss to L 5123 ; kidneys, L 5 13* ; mixed, I>l Iss; The leasehold property was withdrawn at L450—L435 being the highest bid. The coals were withdrawn at L2 10a per ton, and have since been sold privately at a price withheld.
CHRISTCHURCH. [BY TTCf.ECRAPH.I August 16. The produce market is exceedingly quiet; heavy stocks are held by many, and very few orders are coming in. INVERCAKGILL. [bt telegraph.] August 16. There is a steady inquiry for Ua in this district. Yesterday, Mr. Lawson's farm of 300 acres at Wallacetown was sold for LI6 per acre to Mr. D. Carmichael, and Mr. Carswell's property at Wymark Forks, Toi Tois, of 1400 acres, for LSOOO, to the same buyer.
TIMARU. (From the Timaru Herald of to-day.) We have no alterations to report in grain quotations, and those of last week may be taken as good. Oats may be mentioned a shade higher, viz.. up to 3a lid. The weather continues favorable for the young crops, which are now appearing in all directions.
