WAITAKI ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Waitaki Road Board was held to-day, when there were pres--it : Duncan (in the chair). IViv/','. jirocter. Schluter, Easton, E\.ji..*', ri....iiiion, Connell. Aitchison, and Niou.is.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence was read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Waiareka Road Board, regretting that it was not in a position to accede to the Waitaki Board's request to contribute half the cost of forming the remaining portion of the boundary road in block IT,, Awamoko district. An account was also forwarded for Lsl 13s 9d, half the costs of certain works just completed. Some discussion took place, after which it was decided that the Engineer should prepare plans and specifications for the work, and make a fresh application to the Waiareka Board, Messrs. Biggar and Robertson wrote, stating that being unab,le to, Qbtaip. the class of timber specified, for the Boundary Creek br.jdgej they had been compelled to use Oregon at an adduianal cost, and asked the. JJoard to vote them the additional sum.— The request was declined, It was decided to call for tenders for fencing the road-line at Mr, M'Master's property, Mr. Borrie, in accordance with notioe, moved, " That the whole of the district fund be divided among the sub-divisions in an equitable manner, and that a Committee be appointed to bring up a report as to the mode of such division, said Committee to consist of the Chairman, Messrs. Easton. Procter, Evans, Johnston, and the mover."
