SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.
[from our own correspondent.] DUNEDIN. August 12. In reference to the Commissioner of Telegraphs' refusal to keep the Oamaru office open till 8, the Times says that Mr. Lemon is too fond of sacrificing the public convenience for the sake of economy, and hopes that the Oamaru people will not let the matter rest till they get what they are clearly entitled, to. Mr. Driver, M.H.R., proceeded to Wellington yesterday. A very successful trial of the seventon crane for the Oamaru Harbor Board has been made by Messrs. Kincaid and M'Queen.
