Wkllinuton, Aug. 2. At the Conference to-dav the following amendments were suggested and Ciuried in clauses 011 and 012, tho Couueil to have power to lease market reserves for three years instead of one ; in clause 040 the Government to veto bye-law within three months instead of six; clause 04(5 to be struck out, so as to do away with the conflict between the Municipal Corporation Act and the old provincial legislature. and give the boroughs further powers ; in clause 050, that upon an application by the corporation of any borough the Governor shall reserve for providing water supply, and the purposes; connected herewith, or for the purposes, of drainage, from the wsiste lands of th.® Crown not exceeding three thousand acres in the vicinity of such borough, and. shall have the power to sell such reserves to the corporation of such borough at the market value in trust for such purposes, such value to be ascertained by valuers, in clause 185, that, in boroughs within goldlleitis mining shall not be permitted to tho detriment of streets without tho sanction of the council.
