PLOUGHING MATCH AT HAMPDEN.

The Hampden ploughing inarch took place to-day in Mr. M'Kerrow's p uldock, and was.ii great success, both as regards the teams and the ability of th- plowyhmen. About 200 persons \vrc pressnt. The ploughmen and their work may be thus brufly mentioned :
Samuel Coyne, double furrow plough (Reid and Gray); team, one chesnut and two bays. Good work ami capital team.
James Dunbar, double-furrow plough (maker, J. Dougla?, Hampden) ; team, two bays and one grey. —Steady, but furrow rather wide.
Duncan Campbell, donlve-fnrrow plough fn<-iil and Grav) ; team, one iron-grey and two b:i- -
Jolin '■ ... ~-:ii(!; t-atn, black, white, and )j .v. — i -iin't ;-.,.■ re::. ''-v.<: :_'o.;d work.
W. Coyne, doiiM: ( "eid ami '■ 'lra-.) : te"in, two greys, onu black.—Capital work.
.Tames Evans, sin/ie furrow ; lenm, black mul brown : wood-it plough made at Hampden 10 veuv-: ago.—Broad rough furrow. Archibald ("iijli-s—team, dapple-grey and black. Ma-iiniricont team and splendid work, and likely to take the first prize. John il'Allen—team, two dark bays.— Good work.
Allan M'Kerrow—team, black and bay.— Very even furrow, and will take second, it not h'r-t prize.
