Maori, which arrived from the West Const at 8 a.m. to-day, reports arriving at Big Bay at 7 a.m. on the lGth, where H. Fisher, a digger, reported that on the 13th June, when shooting along the beach, to the northward, he found a tent and blanket about five miles up the harbor. Further on he found the dead body of a stranger. He returned to camp and obtained assistance, and at daylight next morning returned to the scene of the accident, and found the bodies of Andrew H. Williamson and James Dalzell. They removed' the bodies above high water mark, and reported the circumstances to Captain Brentley, of Martin's Bay. A starch party was organised and the beaches searched, and the bodies of Jeremiah Dalzell, or Yell, and John Gabriel were found. They buried the bodies and made further search, but without success. It appears that the deceased party had sailed from Jackson's Baj 7 in an open boat, with a quantity of took, deeply laden, and had bo.n swamped on a reef outside Big Bay. Veil leaves a wife and four children. Gabriel also leaves a wife and family at Xova Scotia. Kronspki, whose body is not recovered, leaves a wife and large family. The stranger is supposed to be Dr. Bransehon, —* = — AHAURA. July 18.
