MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

At the meeting of -the Municipal Council last evening, a letter from Mr. John M'Kay. as to the levels of Wansbeck stveot, was referred to the Works Cojv«i;itcee.—Permission was given to transfer the lease of section 2S. block X.,'from Mr. C. Tregurtha to Mr W. Kosnpster, and of section 14, block XC, from Mr. H. H. Cnggins to Mr. S. Shirt.—Mr. Mote's application to erect u, window shade in front of his shop in Jtchen street, was referred to the P blic Works Committee,.—.-A requisition in favor of Thursday next being declared a public holiday, on account of the Steeplechase Meeting, was read, and it was understood that the request would be complied with.— Mr. T.
