OAMARU HOSPITAL.

■*■ The monthly meeting of the Committee of the above institution was held last evening at Mr. Church's office, there being present —Messrs. Mainland (Vice-President, in the ohair), Shrimski, Steward, Townsend. J. Paterson, Brown, Morris, and Lemon (Treasurer). . The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence read and approved, a letter was read from Mr. Montagu accepting the appointment as a member of the Committee. A letter was also read from the Benevolent Society with reference to the case of Jane Evcrleigh, which was ordered to stand oyer for consideration at next meeting. The Visiting Committee's report was then read p.s follows : To the Chairman and Committee of the

Oamaru District Hospital.

Gentleman, —Your Visiting Committee have to report that they visited the building and ground to-day, and found everything in excellent order. The warder reported that he had planted a few shrubs as a break-wind ; this your Committee approved of. Your Committee have to report that the quick hedge has been cut to their satisfaction. They recommend that a supply of voung quicks be obtained to fill up the' vacant! spaces, in order to make a good hedge all round the ground. The warder submitted to your Visiting Committee a list of effects of the late John Baird, a copy of which has been han.ied to the Secretary. They recommend that the various articles be handed over to the widow, with the excepr tion of such of them as may be found to be the property of the Government. There are at present nine indoor patients in the Hospital—seven males and two females. Of outdoor patients there are two. Your Committee submits for your approval accounts agregating L 34 15s 9d, and remain, &o. Ai,ex. Kerr, D. S. Montagu, James Paterson, Convener. The report was adopted.
