♦ . [fkoji odk own CORRESPONDENT. J Dunedin, July 15. The following special cablegrams have been received by the Star : London, July 14. At the Pavi3 Exhibition the Australian wools greatly excel all others, and they will probably be awarded the first prize besides the gold medal. In most of the sections Australia stands conspicuously high. The foreign Governments are asking for quotations for preserved meats. The Colonial Office has distributed the prospectus of the Sydney Exhibition, and the applications from foreign and British exhibitors for space are already numerous. The Liberals are organising tha vestment of opposition to the occupation of Cyprus on accouut of an alliance with Turkey being probable for the protection of her Asaitic dependencies. The Liberals think the Ottoman misgovernuient precludes England from entering into an alliance.
