[FROM OUR OWN iJORRKSPONDENT.J PUNEDIN. • July 9. Several informations wei-e heard to-day, at tile Police Court, against merchants for keeping petroleum, but were dismissed, Messrs. Cargills, Glhbs, and Co, have received a telegram dated London, Bth Juiy : —' ; Won! sales closed firm, without further change in prices. Prices are, on an average. Id to 1-id per lb. higher than at the commencement of the present series. General state of trade is improving."
