AUCTIONEERS' REPORT. Messrs. Fleming and Hedley report that today they held a sale of freehold property, horses, oats, rye grass seed, and potatoes, on ' account of. various vendors. For Mr. John Turnbull'a oats there was good competition—seconds selling at 2s DJd, and rir«ts at 3-» 101 ; bags, lid. The chaff sold at 50s per ton in one lot. Mr. OrOeentteld reports that he held a sale of bacon, drapery, clocks, Ac, to-day, at hta auction, mart, Tyne atreat. The attendance was larger, but bidding not at all spirited. Last year's bacon fetched from 4§d to 5d per lb. One mangle fetched L2 103. The drapery and clocks were not .sold. DUNEDIN. TbY TEt.EORAPH.I July 5. Several vessels are likely to load, which will strengthen the value of oats to 4s ; barley, 6s fid ; flour, £l2 to £l3; bran. £5 ss; sharp?, £6 6s; cheese, 6sd ; butter, lid; hams and bacon, 7§d ; potatoes, £3 10. TIMARU. (From the Timaru Herald of to-day.) "Wheat continues very dull, and the market is without the slightest signs of activity. Oats are stilt firm, and the best are quoted np to 3i Sd ; inferior, 2s lOd. Some few parcels of barley have changed hands at 4s, but the nominal price is 3s 6d to 3d ad. The breadstriffs market has been characterised! \r dulneas, the demand having been almost coiitined to trade wants, and in prices we have no change to report. Floor haa Averaged from LI I 5s to LI I U)s, onr quotation also to-day. At the first-named price, *«wral 10-t«>n parcels were sotd on Monday. On Tuesday, the tone seemed firmer, and various prreels wrp* quitted under the hammer at LI I ss, at which price also sales have been reported to-day. Wheat has been daily ruported firm at Sa 4d to 5s sd. On Monday a dmall lot was placed atss4Jd. At auction, k on Tuesday, 5a 4£d was bid for fins wheat, m .. ' but, holders' limits being higher, no sales ■ were effected. Millers, however,were buyers, and offered Sa 4d freely, without Leading to business. A small parcel of Victorian, was also disposed of by auction on Tuesday at 6s 9d.
